Academic Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide quality academic advising services to current and prospective students to support success and retention.
• Conduct new student orientations and facilitate the enrollment process.
• Assist students with course registration, schedule adjustments, and degree planning.
• Perform graduation audits and determine eligibility for honors recognition.
• Connect students with campus resources including tutoring, financial aid, and career services.
• Collaborate with program directors to identify transfer course equivalencies and process course substitutions.
• Participate in student retention initiatives and outreach to non-registered or no-show students.
• Maintain statistical records regarding enrollment trends and student progress.
• Support senior receptions and commencement exercises as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of professional work experience in a college or university setting.
• Proven experience in student advising.
• Experience working specifically with adult students.
• Proficiency in Office 365.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Experience with transcript evaluation and admissions.
• Working knowledge of Banner and/or DegreeWorks.
