About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic academic advising to undergraduate students in the Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management (AESHM) programs
- Help students navigate degree requirements, university policies, and academic planning to promote retention
- Collaborate with students to develop academic plans and facilitate course substitutions or major changes
- Maintain accurate advising records using student success systems
- Support AESHM Learning Communities to enhance student transition and success
- Co-teach introductory professional development courses for incoming students
- Support recruitment initiatives and participate in departmental service activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience advising students in a higher education setting
- Experience with public speaking and presenting to groups
- Experience in fashion design and merchandising, hospitality management, or event management industries
