Academic Advisor II

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic academic advising to undergraduate students in the Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management (AESHM) programs
• Help students navigate degree requirements, university policies, and academic planning to promote retention
• Collaborate with students to develop academic plans and facilitate course substitutions or major changes
• Maintain accurate advising records using student success systems
• Support AESHM Learning Communities to enhance student transition and success
• Co-teach introductory professional development courses for incoming students
• Support recruitment initiatives and participate in departmental service activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Experience advising students in a higher education setting
• Experience with public speaking and presenting to groups
• Experience in fashion design and merchandising, hospitality management, or event management industries
