About the role

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train new Academic Advisors to ensure high-quality student support
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new advising initiatives
  • Serve as a "super user" for CRM Advise to support other staff members
  • Analyze data to improve Center for Academic Advising and Student Success (CAASS) processes and student outcomes
  • Provide specialized advisement for undergraduate students, specifically complex populations such as international and transfer students
  • Collaborate with academic deans, chairs, and faculty to maximize student support and retention

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in higher education (advisement, records, admissions, or recruitment preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and database software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a sensitivity to student needs
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel between campuses
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Colleague university database system
  • Proficiency in Canvas X16 graphic design program
