Academic Advisor

Responsibilities

• Counsel students on degree curriculums, academic regulations, prerequisites, and graduation requirements
• Develop personalized degree plans and monitor student progress to ensure timely completion
• Proactively communicate with students via email, text, phone, and in-person or virtual meetings to support retention
• Serve as a liaison between students and various partner offices and colleges
• Provide specialized advising for at-risk students, including those on academic warning or probation
• Maintain accurate student records and detailed advisor notes in university platforms like Campus Solutions and Salesforce
• Manage a caseload of approximately 350-400 student files

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 1-3 years of related work experience
• Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement effective academic advising practices
• Proven experience using proactive approaches to improve student persistence and retention

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Appreciative Advising certification or training
• Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Salesforce or similar advising tools
