About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise a group of abstractors engaged in land title examinations
- Prepare abstracts of land title information to determine land ownership
- Assign land title examinations and review completed work for accuracy and completeness
- Participate in searching legal documents
- Supervise staff engaged in writing Certificates of Title and preparing title reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Fluency in the Hawaiian language (ability to read, write, and speak) to interpret historical land documents
- Two (2) years of experience preparing, reviewing, or extracting information from legal documents or records dealing with real property ownership or transactions
- Three (3) years of experience examining and analyzing real property ownership records and documents to determine and evidence title
- Supervisory aptitude or previous supervisory experience
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted
