About the role

Responsibilities

  • Examine, determine, and evidence title to real property or interests therein through detailed record investigation.
  • Conduct investigations in public record offices to ascertain the history and present condition of land titles.
  • Identify and document liens, encumbrances, and other title defects or "clouds."
  • Search and examine all conveyances affecting land or estates to record title history.
  • Abstract operative portions of legal conveyances to summarize ownership and existing encumbrances.
  • Review Land Court documents for registration and prepare evidence of title, such as abstracts or certificates.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience involving preparing, reviewing, or extracting information from legal documents or records related to real property ownership or transactions.
  • One (1) year of specialized experience in examining and analyzing real property ownership records and documents to determine and evidence title.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law).
