About the role
Responsibilities
- Promote awareness of community-based research projects and support Elders recruitment activities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, community centres, and other referral partners
- Undertake required training relevant to the research project, health and safety, and ethical Aboriginal health research practice
- Connect Elders' health and wellbeing projects with local communities and Aboriginal Elders through meaningful engagement
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working as an Aboriginal Health Worker, Aboriginal Health Practitioner, or other relevant experience with Elders
- Demonstrated ability to work closely and respectfully with older Aboriginal community members and stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills with different stakeholders
- Current “C” class driver’s licence and possession of an owned vehicle
- Ability to travel occasionally within Perth
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration
