About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally safe and respectful support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
- Foster strong connections with local community organisations, Elders, and Traditional Owners.
- Implement the Intensive Family Support Cultural Practice Framework to enhance service delivery.
- Engage families using a strengths-based, client-centred, and family-focused approach to co-create case plans.
- Assess risk and safety within family environments and provide therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain comprehensive case files, including referrals, reports, and monitoring service outputs.
- Comply with child and youth safety policies and National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Requirements
- Must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (this is a genuine occupational qualification).
- Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the impact of intergenerational trauma.
- Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and building local partnerships.
- Proven case management experience supporting families with complex challenges (e.g., mental health, disability, or domestic violence).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client case management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.
