ABA Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in center-based and school-based settings
• Follow and implement individualized behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA
• Use evidence-based strategies to teach communication, social, and daily living skills
• Address and manage challenging behaviors using appropriate ABA and safety care techniques
• Record accurate and detailed data on client progress and behavior during sessions
• Maintain thorough and organized session notes
• Report any concerns or changes in client behavior to the supervising BCBA promptly
• Work closely with BCBAs, teachers, school staff, and families to ensure consistency
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development
• Set up and maintain therapy materials and environments
• Adhere to ethical standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50–65 pounds and physically support students
• Ability to implement CPI (therapeutic holds) procedures if necessary
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high-stimulation environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral challenges
