5 Axis Machinist

Responsibilities

• Produce a variety of prototype and production parts using solid models, technical drawings, and engineering sketches
• Analyze written specifications and verbal instructions to determine optimal operation sequences
• Program live multi-axis machining using advanced techniques, including HSM/HEM methods
• Work with high-precision tolerances ranging from +/- .10 mm to +/- .01 mm
• Maintain a tidy, safe work environment and develop professional relationships with designers and engineers

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Machinist Apprenticeship or 4+ years of experience as a Machinist
• High degree of proficiency with HyperMill, NX, Tebis, or WorkNC
• In-depth knowledge of G/M code, parametric programming, macros, and post processor syntax
• Ability to read, understand, and create technical mechanical drawings (orthographic projections, sectional views, etc.)
• Strong understanding of metrology, GD&T, and the use of conventional measuring instruments
• Proficiency in workpiece fixturing and jig/fixture design
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations using geometry, trigonometry, and algebra

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience in stamping or complex manufacturing environments
• Demonstrated experience in problem-solving and troubleshooting
