4PL Area Manager

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned 3PL/4PL partners, conducting site visits to inspect operations and ensure compliance with SLAs.
• Coach and support partner teams of 30–100 people, enforcing Flexport policies, SOPs, and safety standards.
• Manage forecasting and capacity planning by sharing SNOP forecasts with partners and ensuring labor plans align with demand.
• Oversee billing and invoice management by reviewing 3PL/4PL invoices for accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Drive process improvements by documenting escalation paths, coverage models, and performance standards to evolve the 4PL operating model.
• Serve as the escalation point for operational issues and cross-functional troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience managing a team of 5 or more in a fulfillment, warehouse, or 3PL environment.
• Proven ability to hold external partners accountable and drive results without direct authority.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Valid passport and a willingness to travel to partner sites, including international locations.
• Ability to be reachable outside standard business hours to support 24/7 partner operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Background in 3PL/4PL vendor management or multi-site operations oversight.
• Experience building SOPs or operational processes from scratch.
• Experience in international logistics or supply chain management.
