3D Printing Writing Systems and Software Tools Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct print experiments to optimize 3D printing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain R&D lab software tools, backend services, and automation for job submission and telemetry.
• Manage metrology databases, including the development of import/export tools and reporting functionality.
• Maintain and update firmware while troubleshooting hardware, firmware, and network issues.
• Implement API integrations, service routing, and environment-based configuration management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Chemists, and Test Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Material Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in writing systems, 3D printing technologies, or R&D environments.
• Proficiency in Python for backend services and SQL/database fundamentals.
• Experience with Docker-based deployments and Git/version control.
• Strong understanding of API integration and distributed systems troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Windows/Linux command-line and security protocols (HTTP/HTTPS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HP 3D printing firmware and writing systems functionality.
• Background in project management and data informatics.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and leadership abilities.
