2nd Grade Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach standards-based lessons in ELA, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning
• Create a structured, engaging classroom culture with clear expectations and routines
• Build foundational literacy skills including phonics, fluency, and comprehension
• Support student development in number sense and mathematical reasoning
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs through intervention and enrichment
• Use formative and summative data to adjust instruction and monitor progress
• Collaborate with grade-level, special education, and leadership teams
• Partner with families to communicate student progress and growth

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Strong understanding of early literacy, foundational math, and child development
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to use student data to drive instruction

Preferred Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Elementary teacher certification (or active progress toward it)
• Experience in urban school communities
• Early childhood or elementary teaching experience
• Experience with EL Education or Eureka Math curricula
