About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the designated 1st Class Chief Engineer to ensure plant utility and powerhouse operations comply with regulatory, safety, and operating requirements.
- Provide daily leadership and direction for powerhouse and facilities personnel, including reviewing operating logbooks and conducting shift meetings.
- Oversee plant operations and maintenance activities, including the prioritization of work and management of MAXIMO work orders.
- Coordinate daily operating reviews and routine operational meetings to maintain alignment on safety, quality, cost, and environmental performance.
- Support incident reviews, safety observations, and the continuous development of GMS practices within the facilities area.
- Manage administrative duties including timekeeping, purchase requisitions, training coordination, and overtime planning.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance reliability, compliance, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid 1st Class Chief Engineer certification appropriate for the site’s operating requirements.
- Strong knowledge of plant utility, powerhouse, maintenance, and safe operating practices.
- Experience leading plant operations, maintenance coordination, and contractor communication in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency with plant systems and business tools such as MAXIMO, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing or large industrial utility environment.
- Experience supervising or directing shift-based operations teams.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning, procurement support, and structured daily management systems.
