1:1 Support Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 student with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
• Help the student access the curriculum and build essential communication skills
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the student
• Monitor and report on the student's social, emotional, and academic progress
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to implement support strategies
• Promote independence and ensure the student is fully included in all school activities

Requirements

• Proven experience supporting children with additional learning needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt learning materials and activities effectively
• A patient, empathetic, and calm nature, especially when working under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively within a professional teaching team
