Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Structurally design, plan, and oversee steel structure projects' construction process.
  • Conduct project technical assessments and design structural analysis to propose optimal solutions.
  • Prepare structural calculation models using engineering software, including design calculations and technical specifications.
  • Perform project value engineering and resolve design-related issues.
  • Advise and coordinate with Project Manager/Engineers on ongoing technical matters.
  • Report work progress to the Department Manager.
  • Collaborate with Project Consultant Engineers and Resident Engineer.
  • Liaise with other designers, engineers, and architects to deliver optimized designs.
  • Work with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze soil investigation results.
  • Assess existing structures, conduct technical surveys, and advise on improving structural integrity.
  • Check and compare contract specifications, BOQ, and drawings for technical study and clarification.
  • Attend meetings focused on design-related issues.
  • Supervise drafting team for timely preparation of shop drawings and other submittals.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Department, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding material suitability and availability.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structure engineering.
  • Proficient with structural engineering software (Midas, SAP2000, Staad Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent understanding of engineering practices and design standards (Eurocodes, US, British, local guidelines).
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills; able to work independently.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office; programming experience preferred.
  • Valid driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RFEM software is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with infrastructural, industrial, and high-end steel structures.
  • Programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams.
