Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage structural engineering aspects of complex construction projects from design to completion
- Conduct on-site structural inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes
- Develop and review structural designs, calculations, and drawings for various building types and infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers to resolve technical issues and optimize project outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Prepare and present technical reports, structural analyses, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends, innovative construction techniques, and local building regulations
- Implement and maintain safety protocols on construction sites
- Participate in business development activities and client meetings as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent
- Relevant structural engineering certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on on-site roles
- Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro)
- In-depth understanding of building codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode, ACI, AISC)
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven experience in construction supervision and on-site problem-solving
- Familiarity with local building regulations and standards in the UAE
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and geotechnical engineering principles
- Detail-oriented approach and strong commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in large-scale building or infrastructure projects within the UAE or Middle East region
