Job Description
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the construction of wet utility networks, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and local authority requirements (e.g., ADSSC, TWS, TAQA).
- Review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and as-built drawings for all wet utility works.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure timely approvals and resolution of design-related issues.
- Inspect installations: pipelines, chambers, valves, manholes, pumping stations, and civil works.
- Ensure implementation of testing procedures (hydrostatic, leak tests, CCTV inspections, etc.) and review test reports.
- Verify quantities and approve contractor’s progress claims.
- Lead and document technical meetings, including interface coordination with infrastructure systems (roads, dry utilities, structures).
- Monitor HSE compliance during wet utility construction, especially excavation and trenching activities.
- Identify and report deviations from contract documents and propose corrective actions.
- Provide input/support for variation orders, technical queries (TQ), and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Coordinate tie-in and handover approvals from authorities.
- Assist Resident Engineer in preparing reports, risk registers, and maintaining quality and schedule control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8-10 years' construction supervision/management experience
- Track record in large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong technical knowledge in civil engineering
- Proficiency reviewing/interpreting technical drawings/specifications/contracts
- CAD software and project management tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Knowledge of quality management/international standards
- Familiarity with Dubai construction regulations/practices
- Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Collaborative work style in multicultural environments
- Adaptability to changing requirements/deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
