Senior Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for all Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) matters and provide expert guidance.
• Develop, implement, and oversee SH&E strategies, policies, and programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed SH&E best practices across operations.
• Supervise and mentor junior SH&E staff for professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with UAE and international SH&E regulations and standards.
• Design and deliver SH&E training initiatives for staff development.
• Prepare and present SH&E reports to senior management.
• Oversee emergency response planning and crisis management.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the organization for SH&E matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (especially for Engineering backgrounds)
• Minimum 10 years in SH&E, including supervision and leadership
• Track record in developing and leading safety and health programs
• In-depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislation
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in SH&E software/tools
• Experience in inspections and reporting
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001
• Leadership and supervisory skills
• Knowledge of UAE safety standards
• Willingness to travel within UAE for inspections and audits
