Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure proper execution of works
• Coordinate with consultants, project managers, and contractor teams to resolve technical and construction issues on-site
• Monitor and report project progress, quality, safety compliance, and budget adherence
• Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, materials, and technical submittals
• Conduct regular site inspections and issue site memos or NCRs as needed to ensure compliance and rectify deficiencies
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Maintain daily and weekly site reports, including photographic documentation
• Attend site coordination meetings and provide updates to stakeholders
• Support testing and commissioning processes for completed works
• Serve as the point of contact between the client and the contractor for all site-related matters
• Perform obligations of Engineer as per FIDIC
• Track and report cost and progress against baseline programme and budget

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus)
• Minimum 15 years of construction supervision experience, including at least 5 years as a Resident Engineer in the UAE
• Proven track record in high-rise or large-scale commercial/residential projects
• Strong knowledge of local codes (DM, DDA, Trakhees, etc.) and international construction standards
• Familiarity with authority approvals and site procedures in Dubai
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and relevant project tracking tools
• UAE Society of Engineers membership and Dubai Municipality approval preferred
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic language is an advantage
