Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and removing old paint or wallpaper
• Mix and match paints according to specifications and color requirements
• Apply primers, paints, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Ensure proper coverage and finish quality to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Create decorative finishes such as faux painting, texturing, or stenciling when required
• Collaborate with team members and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing and caring for tools and equipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures when handling paints and working at heights
• Provide accurate estimates of time and materials needed for projects
• Offer color and finish recommendations to customers based on their preferences and the project requirements
• Keep detailed records of materials used and work completed for each project

Requirements

• Experience as a Painter (8 years minimum) in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
• Proficiency in various painting techniques and application methods
• Knowledge of different paint types and uses
• Surface preparation expertise
• Ability to mix paints and match colors accurately
• Familiarity with safety procedures and use of PPE
• Physical stamina and dexterity
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints
• Understanding of color theory and design principles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality work
• Time management and organizational skills
• Communication and customer service skills
• Teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work in various weather conditions
• Basic math skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational training in painting
• Safety certifications for hazardous materials or working at heights
