Material Inspector - STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)

Responsibilities

• Inspect site conditions prior to construction activities and verify site compatibility with permanent works for STP infrastructure.
• Identify potential obstructions and document existing conditions, including utilities, equipment, and assets that may be affected.
• Ensure protection of existing facilities and utilities before works commence.
• Review all delivered materials and equipment for conformance with approved material submittals, samples, and specifications. Report discrepancies to the Resident Engineer.
• Verify correct storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or contamination, especially for critical STP components.
• Inspect temporary and permanent works for compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, and QA/QC standards.
• Maintain daily records including logs, test results, and progress.
• Monitor safety compliance and site progress; report hazards promptly.
• Assist with inspection of completed works, punch lists, testing and commissioning of STP systems, and handover activities.
• Review and provide input on RFIs and material-related variance requests.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications; enforce compliance during installation and usage.

Requirements

• Relevant technical diploma or certification in Civil, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in material inspection and laboratory testing, focused on STP or water/wastewater treatment projects.
• Proven involvement in large-scale infrastructure construction, preferably with STP mechanical components.
• Familiarity with international and local material standards (BS, ASTM, Dubai Municipality, etc.) for STP construction.
