Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Inspect site conditions prior to the start of construction activities and verify compatibility with the designed permanent works.
  • Identify site obstructions and document the condition of existing property that might be affected by construction.
  • Ensure protection of existing structures, property, utilities, and landscaping.
  • Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials, and equipment; report findings and discrepancies to the Resident Engineer (RE).
  • Oversee proper storage of materials delivered to site.
  • Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works for compliance with contract documents and approved shop drawings/submittals.
  • Prepare daily logs and reports; maintain inspection records, test results, and executed work documentation.
  • Observe site safety practices and report concerns to the RE.
  • Assist with inspection of completed works, prepare punch lists, and monitor start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Review and provide recommendations for RFIs and contractor requests for variances.
  • Read and interpret working drawings and specifications and enforce compliance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years relevant experience in laboratory materials testing and field inspection.
  • Strong construction supervision experience in roads and infrastructure/expressway projects.
  • Experienced in construction of interchanges and intersections.
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain site documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety and quality standards.
