Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Inspect site conditions prior to starting construction activities and verify site compatibility with designed permanent works.
  • Check for obstructions; photograph and document any conditions that could be impacted by construction; protect property, utilities, and landscaping.
  • Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials and equipment; report discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials are properly stored; report any issues to the Resident Engineer (RE).
  • Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works for compliance with contract documents, approved shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Prepare daily logs and reports; maintain inspection, testing, and execution records as per contract administration procedures manual.
  • Observe site safety practices; monitor work progress and report concerns to the RE.
  • Assist in inspection of completed works; help prepare punch lists and monitor start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover of works.
  • Review contractor RFIs; recommend resolutions.
  • Review requests for variance from contractors and provide entitlement comments and recommendations.
  • Read working drawings and specifications and enforce them while generating relevant reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in relevant technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in laboratory materials testing including field inspection
  • Relevant experience on roads and bridges projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • RTA/DCL approval
  • Middle East experience
