Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of hardscape elements, including pavements, retaining walls, and water features
  • Assess softscape components, such as plants, trees, and turf areas for proper installation and health
  • Verify that landscape installations comply with approved plans, specifications, and local regulations
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to project managers and clients
  • Identify and document any deviations from plans or quality standards
  • Collaborate with contractors and landscape architects to resolve issues and ensure project success
  • Monitor and report on the progress of landscape projects
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and local landscaping requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in landscape inspection or a related role
  • Certified Landscape Inspector certification or equivalent
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardscape and softscape elements
  • Extensive knowledge of plant species, plant selection, soil requirements, and fertilisers
  • In-depth understanding of plant water requirements and irrigation systems
  • Proficiency in paving, kerbs, decorative gravel, and landscape furniture installation details
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in using landscape design software and project management tools
  • Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards
  • Experience in reading and interpreting landscape plans and technical drawings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites
