Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and inspect civil construction activities for Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects under Dubai Municipality.
  • Review and apply relevant codes, standards, and project documents to STP civil works (tanks, pipe galleries, aeration basins, channels, etc.).
  • Conduct daily site inspections per approved shop drawings, method statements, and specifications.
  • Monitor excavation, backfilling, formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, and finishing for STP structures.
  • Verify alignments, levels, and dimensions of pipelines, chambers, manholes, and process units.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with Dubai Municipality regulations and approved quality control procedures.
  • Record and report daily manpower, equipment, and material deliveries used on site.
  • Supervise waterproofing, concrete curing, coating works, and other STP civil components.
  • Assist Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) with site instructions and contractor responses.
  • Coordinate with contractor to resolve civil works issues and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports covering observations, testing updates, progress, and safety findings.
  • Support measurement checks and surveying of pipe routes, levels, and structural tolerances.
  • Monitor and support the testing, commissioning, and handover stages of civil STP works.
  • Assist in reviewing and responding to RFIs and variance requests related to civil scope.
  • Coordinate with client representatives during inspections and prepare documentation.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, NCRs, test results, and executed works.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience for civil engineering graduates; minimum 10 years for diploma holders/high school graduates in civil/infrastructure inspection or civil works supervision.
