Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents; monitor construction activities to ensure compliance.
  • Provide general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation.
  • Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization requirements.
  • Review and become familiar with detailed project drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures.
  • Ensure compliance of contractors with standards and specifications outlined in contract documents.
  • Maintain records of contractor human and equipment daily resources.
  • Undertake site supervision and inspections as required or directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  • Liaise and follow up with contractors daily to ensure effective management of resources, health and safety, and equipment needs onsite.
  • Prepare daily reports to the RE or ARE, covering works orders, material deliveries, and daily inspections.
  • Implement any site instructions issued by the RE and ARE.
  • Apply and enforce all site quality controls and procedures.
  • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks for pipe alignments and levels.
  • Coordinate and cooperate during client project manager’s site inspections.
  • Support ARE and RE in preparation of correspondences in compliance with contract and site requirements.
  • Resolve site problems promptly in collaboration with the RE or ARE.
  • Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of site work; maintain records of project milestones.
  • Maintain records of materials tests and executed works.
  • Audit inspections to ensure conformity with contract documents and contractor plans.

Requirements

  • Technical Institute Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience on similar infrastructure projects (roads, bridges)
  • Experienced in Quality Control and Quality Assurance inspections of construction work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure, roads, or bridges projects within the UAE
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with UAE regulations and standards
