Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents; monitor construction activities for compliance.
  • Provide general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to ensure safe and quality operation.
  • Verify equipment settings, alignment, testing, and energization requirements.
  • Be familiar with project drawings, specifications, and relevant health and safety measures.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract standards and specifications.
  • Maintain daily records of contractor human and equipment resources.
  • Conduct site supervision and inspections as instructed by Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Liaise daily with contractors to ensure proper resource management, safety, and equipment deployment.
  • Prepare daily reports including work orders, material deliveries, and inspection programs.
  • Implement instructions from Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer as required.
  • Apply all quality controls and procedures at the site.
  • Prepare site measurements and survey checks for alignments and levels as needed.
  • Coordinate with client project managers during site inspections.
  • Assist in preparation of site correspondence in compliance with contract documents.
  • Resolve on-site problems promptly with engineering team.
  • Monitor start-up, commissioning, and handover of works, maintaining project milestone records.
  • Maintain records of material tests and executed works.
  • Audit inspections for conformity to contract and submitted plans.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Experience in site supervision and inspection
  • Familiarity with construction drawings/specifications
  • Knowledge of QA/QC standards
  • Record keeping skills
  • Team collaboration
