Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) matters, providing expert guidance to management and staff.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee SH&E strategies and programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SH&E best practices into all operations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior SH&E staff, ensuring high-quality performance.
  • Stay updated on UAE and international SH&E regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver SH&E training programs across the organization.
  • Prepare and present detailed SH&E reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage emergency response planning and crisis management initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the organization in SH&E matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (required for candidates with Engineering or related degrees)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant SH&E field, with supervision and leadership focus
  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing safety and health programs
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations
  • Strong analytical, communication, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in SH&E software and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated experience in inspections, issue reporting, and corrective actions
  • Emergency response and crisis management expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with international SH&E standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of local UAE safety regulations and standards
  • Culturally adaptable in a diverse work environment
  • Willingness to travel within the UAE for site inspections and audits
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Goal-oriented and committed to continuous improvement
  • Decisive in implementing safety corrective measures
