Head of Finance

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes.
• Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, with clear and concise analysis.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure an efficient audit process.
• Ensure compliance with all local and international financial reporting requirements.
• Design, implement, and maintain the controlling structure, including cost centers, profit centers, and allocation methodologies.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and work closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and budget controls, analyze variances, and provide insightful explanations to management.
• Lead the development of the company's operating plan and translate strategic objectives into actionable financial targets.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure business plan alignment and maintain financial projections and sensitivity analysis.
• Develop and document accounting and controlling policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
• Potentially build and lead a high-performing accounting and controlling team, provide mentorship, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and controlling, with at least 5 years in managerial/leadership roles.
• Proven experience establishing and managing the financial control function in a new or rapidly growing organization.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of internal control principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Netsuite a plus).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in technology or engineering.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Proactive, results-oriented, and independent.
• Strong ethical standards and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA).
• Experience in the UAE or Middle East region.
• Prior exposure to rapidly scaling technology or engineering-led organizations.
