Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and inspect electromechanical works on-site, including electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, ITPs, and as-built drawings.
  • Witness factory and site acceptance tests for key equipment.
  • Ensure works comply with all relevant standards (DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, NFPA, IEC, etc).
  • Identify and report non-conformances; follow up on corrective actions.
  • Liaise with authorities (DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, Etisalat, DU) for inspections, approvals, and NOCs.
  • Coordinate with contractors' teams and other discipline engineers.
  • Ensure integration of electrical and mechanical systems with civil works.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Review and verify O&M manuals, training materials, and spare parts lists.
  • Assist in punch list preparation and system handover.
  • Maintain records of inspections, commissioning, and deliveries.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
  • Support claims review and variation order assessments.
  • Provide technical support to site inspectors and junior engineers.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Support value engineering initiatives for system optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in electromechanical supervision for infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Dubai on RTA or government authority projects.
  • Proven experience in installation and commissioning of pumping stations, traffic signals, ITS, street lighting, tunnel/station MEP.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders and authority bodies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid UAE Society of Engineers membership.
  • Prior experience with Dubai government projects.
  • Knowledge of local authority standards and approval processes.
