Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of water systems, including pipelines, drainage, water treatment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Ensure all water-related works adhere to project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide technical support to project team, contractors, and consultants for water-related issues during construction.
  • Assist in resolving technical problems related to drainage, potable water networks, and wastewater treatment.
  • Coordinate water-related activities with project team, contractors, and other departments.
  • Supervise and coordinate inspection and testing of materials and workmanship for water systems.
  • Oversee commissioning and handover of water-related works, ensuring completion of all tests and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports on progress, inspections, material approvals, and changes.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance for all water-related construction activities, conduct regular safety audits, and attend safety meetings.
  • Review and approve contractor submittals (shop drawings, materials, method statements) for water systems.
  • Monitor schedule and progress of water-related works, identify delays, and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with contractors, local authorities, and stakeholders for water-system issues and maintain effective communication.
  • Manage project documentation and ensure relevant permits and certificates for water systems are current.
  • Monitor environmental compliance for water management, including stormwater, wastewater, and pollution control practices.
  • Promote environmentally sustainable practices in the design and implementation of water systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 15+ years construction supervision
  • PE license or equivalent certification
  • Water systems expertise
  • Project management proficiency
