Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Review Inspectors Daily Reports
  • Oversee Inspectors’ daily activities and assignments
  • Guide Inspector’s supervision of contractor’s operations
  • Review and comment/approve contractor’s shop drawings
  • Review contractor’s technical submittals (Method Statement, Material, shop drawings, etc.)
  • Coordinate with contractor’s supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work
  • Review as-built drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyors
  • Witness laboratory tests, verify results
  • Report non-conformances by contractor
  • Assist in punch list preparation
  • Coordinate field inspections
  • Participate in project leadership and client interaction
  • Set, manage, and control delivery of all contract elements (scope, quality, budgets, schedules, stakeholder interfaces, environmental, health & safety)
  • Convey instructions to staff members
  • Keep Resident Engineer informed of developments that may affect the project
  • Solve problems expeditiously using technical expertise
  • Identify slippage in contractor activities and recommend recovery actions
  • Anticipate and prevent construction problems
  • Demonstrate leadership and promote respect
  • Ensure high-quality work and compliance with requirements, specifications, and safety standards
  • Assess contractor’s compliance to quality management systems and standards
  • Review contractor’s design for compliance with requirements and standards
  • Provide approvals/comments for calculations, drawings, and materials
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including status on fabrication, construction, testing, components, assemblies, and material procurement
  • Evaluate contractor's personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
  • Monitor progress of all project participants
  • Participate in construction meetings
  • Perform claims analysis and maintain project claims file
  • Assist with resolution of construction issues
  • Analyze value engineering proposals
  • Prepare non-conformance reports to contractor when needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years construction supervision/management experience
  • 8 years infrastructure project experience
  • Dubai project experience
  • Senior Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer experience
  • Degree in civil engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Leadership in construction management teams
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Technical expertise in civil engineering methods and standards
