Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Review Inspectors' Daily Reports.
  • Oversee Inspectors’ daily activities including assignments, on-site performance, and supervision guidance.
  • Approve Contractor’s Shop Drawings as delegated by Resident Engineer.
  • Review and assist Resident Engineer on technical submittals (Method Statement, Material, Shop Drawings, etc).
  • Coordinate with Contractor’s supervisory personnel on schedule, sequence, and method of work.
  • Review as-built drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyors.
  • Witness laboratory tests and verify results.
  • Report non-conformances by Contractor.
  • Assist in punch list preparation and coordinate field inspections.
  • Be an active member of project leadership team and interact with the client.
  • Manage delivery of contract elements: scope, quality, budgets, schedules, communication/reporting, environment, health & safety.
  • Convey instructions to staff to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain Resident Engineer informed of developments affecting the project.
  • Interpret survey and engineering submittals to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Identify slippage in Contractor’s activities and recommend recovery actions.
  • Use construction experience to anticipate/prevent problems proactively.
  • Promote strong leadership and mutual respect between AECOM and Contractor.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with Employer’s, Project's, and Safety Requirements.
  • Assess Contractor compliance with quality systems and standards.
  • Review Contractor’s Design for compliance with all requirements and standards.
  • Provide comments/approvals for Contractor submittals (calculations, drawings, materials).
  • Submit daily/weekly progress reports and report non-conformities.
  • Evaluate Contractor personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress of project participants.
  • Participate in project construction meetings.
  • Perform claims analysis and maintain claims file.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems.
  • Analyze value engineering proposals.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum 12 years Construction Supervision/Management experience
  • 8 years infrastructure project experience
  • 3 years UAE experience
  • Senior Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer project experience
