Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting updates
• Ensure accurate reconciliations of fiat and crypto accounts
• Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and controls
• Support preparation of management accounts and financial statements

Audit & Compliance

• Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and internal accounting policies
• Respond to auditor requests within deadlines
• Review historical accounting records for accuracy and completeness

Treasury & Cash Flow

• Monitor cash balances and payment readiness for operations
• Approve invoices and payments in line with policy
• Support VAT and other tax compliance by ensuring correct postings
• Prepare inputs for management cash flow reviews

Process Improvement & Controls

• Implement and improve accounting policies and procedures
• Introduce accruals, fixed asset accounting, and process improvements
• Drive automation of accounting workflows and reporting
• Support payroll and contributor payment accounting

Team Support & Development

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants and finance staff
• Review team members' work and give feedback
• Support collaboration with finance and operations teams
• Engage in ad-hoc projects requiring technical accounting expertise

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, ideally in international environments
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and accounting policies
• Proven track record in reconciliations and financial reports
• Audit preparation and external auditor coordination
• Experience with VAT and tax compliance
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Xero, SAP, Oracle) and Excel
• Exposure to crypto/digital asset accounting is an advantage
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines
• Team-oriented mindset with mentoring ability

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Experience in fintech, blockchain, or technology-driven companies
• Knowledge of treasury operations and cash flow forecasting
• Experience with ERP implementations or process automation
• Hands-on experience with financial data analytics or BI tools
