QA QC Engineer – Structural Steel (On Site)

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project’s Quality Management System in compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Review, interpret, and ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant standards for structural steel works.
• Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, fabricated steel structures, and on-site installations.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test records, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, and third-party inspectors to ensure smooth quality control processes.
• Monitor welding, bolting, and coating activities to ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Ensure proper calibration of inspection and testing equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE).
• 4 – 8 years of experience in QA/QC for structural steel works, specifically in bridge projects.
• Own car and valid UAE Driving License (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of relevant international standards (AWS D1.1, AISC, ASTM, BS EN, ISO).
• Proficient in preparing and reviewing ITPs, method statements, and material submittals.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, NACE, BGAS, FROCIO.
• UAE experience preferred.
