Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Inspect site conditions prior to the start of construction activities and verify compatibility with designed permanent works.
  • Identify and document any obstructions or issues that may impact existing structures, property, utilities, or landscaping, ensuring they are properly protected.
  • Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials, and equipment; report findings and discrepancies to the Resident Engineer (RE).
  • Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works to ensure compliance with contract documents and approved shop drawings.
  • Prepare daily logs and reports, maintaining thorough records of inspections, tests, and work performed in accordance with contract procedures.
  • Monitor and document site safety practices and general progress; report concerns to the RE.
  • Assist with inspection of completed works, help prepare punch lists, and monitor start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Review and recommend resolutions for RFIs and variance requests from contractors.
  • Read and enforce specifications as related to working drawings and produce relevant reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant technical field
  • 5+ years relevant experience in laboratory materials testing and field inspection
  • Experience on roads, infrastructure, and bridges projects
  • Ability to read technical working drawings and enforce specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • RTA/DCL approval (preferred)
  • Middle East experience (preferred)
