Environmental Officer/Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UAE federal, Dubai local, and international environmental regulations (including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and MOCCAE)
• Monitor air, water, wastewater discharges, chemical usage, and waste management practices
• Obtain and maintain all required environmental permits and licenses
• Support preparation for environmental clearance certificates, audits, and inspections
• Implement segregation, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste (sludges, detergents, solvents, chemical materials/containers)
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals
• Advise on reduction, reuse, recycling, and recovery initiatives
• Support eco-friendly practices (energy, water conservation, chemical substitution, green packaging)
• Conduct and promote environmental training and awareness among employees
• Maintain records, reports, and dashboards for management and regulatory bodies
• Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Participate in meetings and audits
• Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and spills; recommend corrective and preventive actions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, EHS/HSE Management, or related field
• 4–6 years of experience in environmental safety, industrial hygiene, or analyst roles
• Strong knowledge of UAE federal, Dubai, and international environmental regulations
• ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and industrial hygiene knowledge
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid UAE driving license (advantage)
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or IEMA qualification
• Familiarity with Notion, Asana, Slack
• Proficiency in Hindi or additional languages
