Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintains performance standards as detailed in the Departmental Operations Manual for efficient department operation in accordance with Hotel Policy.
  • Ensures guest needs and expectations are met by providing consistently high standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Assists in establishing outlet identity through required standards of food presentation.
  • Follows preparation methods and standard recipes for every menu item in assigned kitchen.
  • Maintains and cleans work areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Coordinates with colleagues regarding operational problems.
  • Operates kitchen equipment correctly for efficiency and safety.
  • Participates in regular meetings and briefings as scheduled.
  • Understands and abides by all safety rules, emergency procedures, and fire prevention regulations.
  • Assists in implementing food safety and hygiene standards including HACCP and Municipality regulations.
  • Works closely with Hygiene Officer in implementing hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Participates in scheduled training and development programs to improve standards.
  • Responds to changes in Food and Beverage function as dictated by industry, company, or hotel.
  • Reports for duty punctually in correct uniform and maintains high standard of personal appearance.
  • Provides friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  • Maintains good relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  • Reads and understands the Employee Handbook and adheres to rules, especially Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Complies with local legislation as required.
  • Responds to department changes as dictated by hotel needs.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned, including redeployment if required to meet business demands.
  • Attends training and meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma/degree in vocational hospitality
  • 3-4 years experience in 4-5 star hotel
