Assistant Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality, and safety standards
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate work and resolve technical issues
• Review and analyze project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and uphold timelines and budgets
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, progress updates, and change orders
• Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
• Assist in the review and approval of contractor submittals, RFIs, and payment applications
• Support implementation of innovative solutions to optimize efficiency and performance
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction engineering and management
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control
• Proficiency in project management software and CAD tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes and practices
• Goal-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer License
• Experience with a wide range of construction projects (infrastructure/building)
• Knowledge of sustainable construction & LEED certification
• Proficiency in Arabic (written and spoken)
