Tech Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a diverse technical team, ensuring excellence and collaboration
• Build processes and systems that enable the team to scale efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes
• Stay hands-on with infrastructure and system architecture while guiding technical direction for the Abu Dhabi office
• Collaborate with leadership to align local priorities with Tavily’s global strategy
• Drive best practices in system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Help shape the culture and growth of Tavily’s new international office

Requirements

• Proven expertise in backend and distributed systems (Python, APIs, AWS, Kubernetes/Argo)
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI agents or RAG workflows in production
• Deep understanding of retrieval strategies (dense, sparse, hybrid), context optimization, and methods to reduce hallucinations
• Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent)
• Ability to design, own, and evolve complex architecture
• Track record of leading multidisciplinary technical teams
• Experience building and operating real-time, low-latency, large-scale systems
• Strong background with databases (Snowflake, MongoDB, Redis)
• Practical experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS
• Comfortable thriving in startup environments

• Demonstrated success mentoring technical teams in high-growth environments
• Prior experience scaling AI, search, or retrieval-related systems globally
