Project Director - Marine Works

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale (>$300m) marine project(s) or multiple small marine projects through local deputies.
• Lead and manage all project departments to complete marine construction projects within safety, quality, budget, and time.
• Responsible for profit and loss of project(s).
• Meet and coordinate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Organize project departments for timely deliverables and working documents.
• Coordinate work preparation, sub-contracting, and purchasing processes.
• Ensure full Health, Safety, and Environmental assurance and control; oversee Quality Assurance and Control.
• Manage on-site technical preparation and execution, plant fleet management, and contractual relations.
• Supervise and coach project managers/local deputies.
• Establish organizational structure and processes; motivate and address process malfunctions.
• Approve project engagements and conclude supply/sub-contracts after team prep and audits.
• Maintain social contacts and public relations to benefit the company.
• Negotiate and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and third parties.
• Manage tenders/contracts and allocate resources; enforce project standards and manage technical reviews/team allocation.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports: progress, profit/loss, and updates to senior leadership/head office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Minimum 10-15 years project management in large-scale international construction
• At least 5 years as Project Director with a Main Contractor
• Middle East experience required
• Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or professional certifications
• Fluency in an additional European language (French or Dutch)
