Hydraulic & Instrument Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and pneumatic testing of Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP), ensuring proper function of control circuits, valves, and actuators.
• Verify calibration and installation of instrumentation as per project specifications.
• Conduct loop checks and simulate control logic to confirm system responses.
• Execute nitrogen charging of accumulators and ensure safe hydraulic system operation.
• Troubleshoot and rectify hydraulic performance issues during commissioning.
• Perform functional checks on chemical injection skids, including pumps, dosing lines, and controls.
• Verify interlocks, alarms, and safety features according to control logic and datasheets.
• Coordinate with process and automation teams for system integration.
• Test and calibrate field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature transmitters).
• Perform loop checking, signal testing, and sensor verification with multimeters, HART communicators, etc.
• Document commissioning conditions and maintain accurate records.
• Work with engineering and QA/QC teams to resolve site-based issues.
• Support final pre-commissioning activities including flushing, leak, and pressure testing.
• Adhere to site safety rules and participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Experience as Testing & Commissioning Technician (preferably in oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors)
• Strong understanding of WHCP, chemical injection skids, hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with accumulator charging procedures, nitrogen handling
• Hands-on instrumentation testing, loop checking
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, technical datasheets
• Good troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certification in Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related fields
• Relevant commissioning or safety training (e.g., H2S, PTW, LOTO)
• BOSIET and HUET certifications advantageous
• OEM/vendor training certificates for WHCP or chemical skids preferred
