English Copywriter, Secondment

Responsibilities

• Craft clear, engaging content across multiple formats including press releases, white papers, opinion editorials, speeches, internal communications, and social media copy.
• Act as the primary editorial lead within the client’s team, maintaining strong alignment with Edelman Smithfield’s editorial, strategy, and client service teams.
• Collaborate with senior business and communications stakeholders to shape narratives and deliver messaging aligned with brand voice and strategic objectives.
• Edit and refine existing content to ensure clarity, tone, and message consistency.
• Contribute to ideation and creative development, bringing a storytelling perspective to complex topics.

Requirements

• 4 to 6 years of professional writing experience, ideally within an agency or corporate communications environment.
• Native-level fluency in English.
• Skilled at delivering impactful copy under tight deadlines.
• Confident working directly with senior client stakeholders, able to grasp institutional tone, brand guidelines, and business needs quickly.
• Collaborative, agency-minded team player comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi for a three-year in-house secondment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Arabic language skills are a strong asset.
• Familiarity with financial services, banking, or corporate institutions is highly desirable.
• Portfolio showcasing business writing, thought leadership, and editorial content.
• Ability to balance creativity with precision and manage multiple assignments on tight timelines.
