Backend Engineer - Fintech

Responsibilities

• Own and build core backend services for a neobank: payments, wallets, reconciliation, transaction history, and notifications.
• Design and operate event-driven, streaming, and serverless systems with high availability and low latency.
• Implement secure, compliant financial flows (payments, KYC, identity, authentication).
• Collaborate with product, security, and mobile teams to define APIs and integrations.
• Mentor engineers, review architecture, and drive reliability, observability, and automated testing.
• Use AI-assisted development tools daily to increase velocity and code quality.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience
• Node.js & TypeScript
• Serverless AWS
• API Gateway & Lambda
• DynamoDB / Kinesis
• EventBridge / Streaming
• Payments & wallets
• KYC & identity
• Real-time protocols
• Security & compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Blockchain familiarity (stablecoins, payment flows)
• Experience with React Native (contribution-level)
• Prior fintech or banking platform work
• Strong systems design and distributed systems background
• Comfortable with AI-driven engineering workflows
