Associate Director - Structures

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise engineering teams in the design and delivery of complex vertical structures
• Lead scheduled technical reviews, conduct quality checks, and approve designs, calculations, and drawings
• Provide technical leadership, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and company standards
• Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and documentation
• Conduct advanced structural analysis to solve engineering challenges and optimise performance
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for delivery
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues
• Promote the integration of innovative materials and technologies
• Champion sustainable design practices to reduce environmental impact and enhance building performance
• Mentor and develop engineering talent to foster a collaborative team culture
• Serve as primary client liaison throughout the project lifecycle
• Contribute to business development via technical proposals, presentations, and client engagement
• Identify and mitigate design and execution risks to ensure structural integrity
• Stay current with codes, regulations, and industry best practices
• Support recruitment, staff development, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Operate with autonomy and accountability, influencing strategic decisions and driving innovation

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 15 years post-undergraduate experience
• Background in vertical projects (high-rise/towers)
