Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the implementation of worker welfare practices, control programs and standards in prequalification, tendering and monitoring to companies engaged by Aldar.
- Identify and assess worker welfare needs.
- Determine applicability of worker welfare controls in processes.
- Assess trends in monthly reports to determine remedial actions.
- Conduct risk assessments of employers at tendering and onboarding; monitor activities, including worker interviews and office visits.
- Assign risk ratings based on completed assessments and reports.
- Update risk assessments based on continued monitoring and close-outs.
- Oversee non-conformance logs and manage timelines for close-outs.
- Develop improvement plans to downgrade risk ratings and escalate when risk rating should be elevated.
- Report monthly on trends identified through monitoring data.
- Maintain records of grievances received via hotline and suggest remedial actions.
- Serve as the first point of contact for grievances and escalate as appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in worker welfare or related function.
- Experience in worker welfare, social compliance, HSE in the MENA region.
- Strong knowledge of worker welfare issues and UAE Labour Law.
- Understanding of site-based construction project dynamics.
- IT proficient: advanced Excel, database, and ERP (e.g., SAP Ariba/Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Project management and planning abilities.
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Member of CIPD preferred.
