Mechanical Engineer - Site (Building projects)

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical design, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and calculations related to building projects.
• Conduct on-site inspections and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and inspectors, fostering professional development.
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes and authorities' regulations.
• Implement sustainable engineering practices in project designs and execution.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, contractors, and suppliers to maintain project timelines.
• Continuously improve processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering consultancy
• Familiarity with UAE local codes and regulations
• Proven track record in on-site supervision and project coordination
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles (including heat load and sizing calculations)
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping, and industrial equipment
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities
• Commitment to sustainable engineering practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel to various project sites within the UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing mechanical, plumbing, fire fighting, LPG/NG, and fuel system works on diverse construction projects
• Prior experience mentoring engineering teams onsite
• Strong presentation and reporting skills
